How do I detangle my hair?

There are so many different ways to detangle your hair. I have tried various methods and have finally found one that works. I no longer wash my hair in sections. I leave it all out and gently wash from root to ends. When I get out of the shower I section in 4 sections, and using my refreshing hair mist (aloe vera juice, water, essential oils), my shea butter mix and coconut oil, I finger detangle. I gently separate the curls and work out any visible knots. Then I use my wide toothed comb to further detangle. Then I finish up with my denman brush. Detangling takes me about 15-20 minutes. Its a breeze :)

What are some methods  you can use to detangle your hair?

  • Detangle in the shower...
    • while your hair is coated with conditioner. Make sure its a conditioner with a lot of slip! If it has lots of slip, you may not even need a comb
    • with apple cider vinegar. It opens up your hair (best way I can describe it) and allows you to easily finger detangle
    • with your terressentials in your hair. Gently separate the curls and finger detangle
  • Detangle before showering....
    •  by lightly misting your hair with water, adding an oil, and gently combing out with a wide toothed comb
    • by applying a conditioner and finger detangling
    • by using a pre-poo treatment
