Chronicles on a Natural Apostolic: Learning Everyday

Dear Kendra,

I want you to know you aren't perfect. Even when it comes to knowing your hair... You make mistakes too and have challenges and set backs. But don't worry, everything will be alright. This journey has ups and downs but it's still beautiful. And it will be worth it..

With love,

your natural self
Today as I was doing my hair I noticed that my hair seems shorter in the front. As if I have lost quite a bit of length.. Talk about a moment of frustration and sadness...

I think the breakage is from not being gentle enough when taking out my mini twists.. And not deep conditioning as often as I would like. My hair was weak and broke .. Another reason could be from split ends that just broke naturally. I'm honestly not sure.. I just notice a difference
Rather than cry over spilled milk I have a plan of action I will be implementing..

1. Shampoo and condition weekly
2. Deep condition bi-monthly
3. Keep my hair moisturized
4. Spend time carefully detangling, combing and removing styles
5. Rocking more protective styles that won't cause breakage

Today was the start of something great.. Like a turning point. And a realization that I can't let the ball drop with consistency!
No natural journey is perfect. They are filled with flaws as we strive to nail this thing down. I by no means am giving up.. I'm a fighter.

Here's to another season of celebrating, loving and caring for natural hair :)
