Fashion Tip: Re-Fashioning What You Already Have

Shopping is so much fun! Who doesn't like to get something new and trendy??

Well, not only do I enjoy shopping...

but I enjoy taking what I have and making something else.

I used old scraps to add the trim and flower to the bottom of this skirt that I sewed from scratch.

One of the first skirts I ever made. I found a fabric that I just HAD to have. Added an elastic waistband. For $4 I made one of my favorite skirts of all time!

Although I have made some things... I don't think I have used my talents as much as I should. I have a whole cabinet of beautiful fabric, threads, buttons, lace and embellishments calling my name.

 My goal for the rest of this year is no shopping (unless it is for a necessity).

Why?

• I am on a quest to become a more frugal person 
• We want to save for our first house
• If I have the talent and creativity, why not use it?

Here is to breaking out the sewing machine and letting my creativity flow!
